Your Senior Portrait Session

You're Graduating!!

I am so excited to capture this AMAZING time in your life!  Portrait photography is unique, because it not only captures what you look like at a certain point in time, but it also captures who you are - your personality! My goal is not to get a stiff and posed shot, but to capture what makes you YOU. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your session with me:

Location: Together, we will decide on the best location for your photos. I have many locations that I love to shoot at regularly but I am always open to new locations as well. You should choose a location that fits your style and personality. I can help you along with this decision. Click HERE to read more information about choosing a location that is best for your family.

Time: If we are meeting outdoors, we will shoot either in the early morning or in the evening. The light is typically too harsh mid day. My favorite time is about two hours before sunset, because it provides gorgeous light and atmosphere.  The images in my portfolio look the way they do largely because of my use of light - the time of day your session takes place has a huge impact!

Length of Session: My senior portrait sessions last between 60-90 minutes. I can easily get a diverse and adequate gallery in that time.

What To Wear: Wardrobe should be comfortable and reflect who you are.  For senior portraits, I recommend choosing two outfits - one that is casual, and one that is a bit more glamorous. I am happy to consult you directly on wardrobe or recommend a personal stylist if you are interested.  Just let me know.

Props: I use minimal props during my sessions; however, if you have something in mind please let me know.  Many seniors like to bring something that showcases their unique talents, like an instrument, ballet shoes, football helmet, etc.

Please arrive on time and be ready to start on time: Remember, your session is scheduled according to light.  It is important that we start on time. Please plan for traffic or parking constraints!  It's best to arrive early!

I can't wait to capture your portraits!  Do not hesitate to ask me any questions you have.  See you soon!
